Solar Eclipse Group Surf Lesson

Farmdog Surf School is offering a Solar Eclipse Group Surf Lesson from 2 to 4 PM on August 21st, 2017.  This is literally a once in a lifetime activity, as the last time a total solar eclipse was visible across the entire contiguous United States was during the June 8, 1918 eclipse.

Farmdog Surf School offers a Solar Eclipse Group Surf Lesson

Solar Eclipse Group Surf Lesson taking place on August 21

Like all of our Group Surf Lessons, the Solar Eclipse Group Surf Lesson is available to surfers ages 6 and up. Lesons feature NSSIA Certified instruction with a student to instructor ratio of 3 to 1.  The class includes a surfboard and wetsuit, so students only need to bring proper swim attire and a towel.

The class opens with safety instruction followed by a warm up.  After the warm up, instructors demonstrate proper paddling and popping up technique.  Following the short demo, the students take over and practice the fine art of paddling and popping up.  After a few rounds, everyone heads to the water for some coach assisted surfing.  Instructors teach to the level of the student, so if you want to surf better, join the class and make some progress.

Although we won’t see a total eclipse, Nags Head expects a 90% eclipse.

As a refresher, the Solar Eclipse Group Lesson includes:
